Sorry for the long time no updates, I totally got caught up in the woosh.

I've been doing more finished stuff you can see in my Deviantart gallery and such.

WOAH I didn't realize I haven't posted in like two months. I'm sorry about that. I'm sure everyone gave up on this place by now. Harhar. It's ok - I've just been busy, and I haven't been drawing so much. I guess I'm kind of in an art block. I'll post some stuff I did anyway. Than I have to do homework. This semester is going to kill me.



Early concept thing for Brahnle, Emperor-Matron of Ensanctyse.


Doodles. Rhys looking upset (because he has a frail ego!) A sorta Eydnan winterwear thing, and a very sloppily done huldra.


A very blah sketch I inked because I was desperate. Trying to get the look of a Bahmani girl down. Why nude? I don't know, I guess I wanted to play with body-shape too.


So here we start with some small little watercolors I did for practice - testing myself, I guess, and trying to figure some stuff out I was having problems with. Here's a.. uh... girl.

And a girl modeled after the famous photo by Steve McCurry. I was thinking of appropriating the general look (brown hair, dark mocha skin with ruddiness, hazel eyes) for a people of my world, but I can't remember what I was gonna call them. Meh. Markers scan horribly!!

Some days it doesn't seem worth it to stand up for things. I keep wondering if I'm picking the wrong battles (speaking out against a book that makes enslavement of women sexy, debating the politics of fantasy, etc) and if I may be wrong in my convictions.

It just doesn't matter. I need to learn to keep my big mouth fucking shut. No wonder I'm such a goddamn introvert. I hate everything.

Eight more speedpaintings. Again - same stuff applies. Some from ref, some not, I claim no right to the original images I reffed from, etc. Mostly practicing atmosphere and landscape.


Earth. This is my home. Inspired by listening to the late Carl Sagan's introduction to his book "Pale Blue Dot". Purposefully abstract.


Possibly tundra, or something. No ref. Experimenting with the new brushes I downloaded, to add texture.


From a ref. Another boreal forest - again, playing with brushes and textures, trying out some speedpainting techniques I've seen on Sijun.


Mangrove roots. From a ref - I really like this one, for some reason.


I had a really fucked up dream a few nights ago, that ended totally differently, with meeting what I thought would be Cassandrah, the gynecratic conquerer of Ensanctyse, as a young teenager. It creeped me out, but gave me some good ideas on her origins. I just love inspirational dreams! I love dreaming about my characters :3

Nine speedpaintings plus a sketch.

I've been in such an art depression for some time now, and I just don't know what to do about it! Been spending a lot of time on ConceptArt.org and so I figured I'd give the speedpaintings thing a whirl.

Yes some of these are done from photo ref. I make no claims to the original. If problems arise I'll remove them immediately. These are just PRACTICE. Not real art.

Heehee. This is an older image, from like, 2002, but I still like it. Jeremy's old character Pandi Brown, a panda-girl with a thing for 60s/70s retro. She's really cute.


Moar culture stuff. I drew a Kunhvpa dancer girl, so here's a quick sketch of a dancer male. Dance for the Kunhvpanen is a MASSIVELY big deal.


Ahhh, more Axel and Rhys awkwardness. There is no sex here, just Rhys laying on top of Axel, fast asleep and unaware of Axel's discomfort being up late and wondering what the hell happened to put him in this position. Inspired by a picture, but loosely.


Moar Kunhvpa people. Yes a part of Kunhvpa is temperate forest and mountainous so there will be cool/cold winters. Here's a northerner with some more snuggly clothes on. I like his hair too :B


Yup, another Kunhvpa woman. I was all jazzed to just draw some patterns and some alternate type outfits for people. Because not everyone is gonna wear the same thing, but I like to keep a certain style that fits with their entire society as opposed to slapping things together for different people with no consciousness of what their clothes mean to them.


Oh dear, Rhys in another predicament. While I may seem like some kind of usual weirdo sadist for this, it's a lot more meaningful to me than that. See my other galleries for other references for the binding of Rhys.
